The fast paced, rocket powered jet-ski stunt racing game Riptide GP: Renegade now has a release date for Xbox One and Windows 10. Vector Unit, the team behind several Riptide games including Hydro Thunder Hurricane, has already released versions on PS4, Steam, TV and Mobile devices (iOS/Apple TV) earlier in 2016.
Riptide GP: Renegade will release on February 24th for Xbox One and Windows 10 devices.
RGPR will also be one of the first 3rd party games to support Xbox Play Anywhere, which means players can pay once for Xbox One or Windows 10, and be able to enjoy the game on both machines. This is similar to the idea of PlayStation’s “cross-buy” feature, in which PS4 and PSVita versions were packaged together for one price, rather than having to buy them separately. This is a huge advantage for players, as it means people who might have friends on both Xbox One and Windows 10 machines will not have to purchase two copies to play with their friends online.
In addition to the game’s single player career mode, there are online race modes with up to 8 players, challenge modes to race against ghosts for the fastest time, and 4-6 (yes, SIX PLAYER on Xbox One/ 4 on Windows 10) split-screen local multiplayer. You will need 6 controllers, as you’ll each have your own character to race with simultaneously. That’s pretty awesome. Again, it’ll be available for Xbox One and Windows 10 on February 24th for $9.99, and is already available on PS4, Steam, TV and Mobile apps (iOS, Amazon, etc.)
