A bit late to the party on this one but I thought I’d let you all know that Hand of Fate 2 will be coming to PS4. Prior announcements locked down it’s release on PC and Xbox One, but the PS4 has now been officially added to the list.
Following in the footsteps of it’s first game, HoF2 aims to improve on everything it nailed in the first game. It’s a card based RPG game in which not only do you do deck-building, but you also jump into some awesome 3rd-person RPG action along the way. The combat is really fun and as each deck is randomized as you play, you’ll never be quite sure how it’s going to go. You can see my review for Hand of Fate on PS4 here. Defiant Development expects a release of Q1 2017 for the game, and was shown at both PAX West and PlayStation Experience this year.
Among other things, what’s new to Hand of Fate 2 is the addition of companions, which was revealed in a trailer that dropped back in September. If you didn’t get a chance to see it, watch it below.
The first Hand of Fate took my by surprise because when you hear “card game meets action/adventure” you’re not necessarily thinking it would pair together well. I still tell people who ask me about the game to simply play it because the combat mechanics in the mini-battles/challenges holds up so damn well to AAA titles. It’s just a lot of fun playing the balance between card choices and having to fight off enemies based on the hand you’re dealt.
My advice is to check out the first one if you haven’t, and keep your eyes out for this one. It’s a really fun game that doesn’t necessarily require you do devote a ton of time per sitting. It’s just a lot of fun even in a short sitting with the game. If you’re interested in finding out more about Hand of Fate 2, check the following places:
