After nearly completing it’s first critical phase of development, they have decided to release the Pre-Alpha version on September 30th, 2017. This game gained a lot of support from a diverse fanbase and actually was the 3rd most funded video game on Kickstarter last year. The Pre-Alpha will be limited to Kickstarter and other crowdfunding backers that pledged Gold Founder level and above before September 7th. The game will be hands-on for press at both Gamescom and PAX West to experience the gameplay for the first time.

Here’s a quote from JC Baillie, the CEO of Novaquark;

“We are very excited and impatient to get our first players inside Dual Universe. We still have much work to do, so we just renamed the access into “Pre-Alpha” instead of “Alpha”, but we did not want to delay it, as it’s very important for us and the community in terms of timing to receive early feedback.”

What makes the game so unique is the proprietary technology behind it. A CSSC (continuous single-shard cluster) maintains the entirety of the game’s universe in one instance. So everyone who ever plays this game is playing in the same world, server, universe, in it’s entirety. There are no different servers or instances, which is an incredible feat for a game of it’s scale. Players can modify the world as they see fit, digging for resources, building structures or ships, at any scale they want.

The virtual world that Novaquark is building within Dual Universe will allow for millions of people to explore and adventure amongst each other, leaving them the only limitation of what they think up.
