inVokeR VR Wizard Dueling Game Out Now

Got an HTC Vive or Oculus Rift? Why not check out this awesome 1v1 game by 8th Shore, Inc. called inVokeR. Already a fan of the clever working of V and R into the title, but more excited that it’s a 1v1 wizard dueling game. The game is currently available for HTC Vive and Rift, with the full released planned later on during the year.
invoker vr game, wizard vr games,
inVokeR has a single player mode as well as multiplayer, so you can play offline and train your wizardry skills. The AI has multiple difficulties, Time Attack modes, as well as a Boss mode. Once you’ve got your wits about you (was hoping for a better pun) you can take yourself to the online mode, which features both private matches to play against friends or go into public matches against the world. Optional voice chat exists too, which is great in a 1v1 environment.
Eric Compton, the Director and Producer of the game was quoted saying “Our aim with inVokeR was simply to make a game that was fun at its core,” as well as “The basics are easy to pick up — it’s just throwing a ball — so anyone can jump in and play. For those who want to spend the time to learn all the spells and how they work, there are small nuances to using every spell that allow for interesting strategies against other players and there’s undoubtedly a level of mastery to be attained. We intend to shape the game’s continued development with our community, and are actively seeking player feedback.”
The game is currently available via Early Access on Steam. The Early Access launch version includes three different fantasy battle stages to choose from.
It’s a unique concept for sure, but I think the idea of giving you a 1v1 environment in VR seems like a great opportunity to experience what the technology can offer you. It’s available at a discount during launch week but will return to standard pricing of $14.99/€14.99/£11.99 during Early Access.
