Hand of Fate, the popular card-meets 3rd person action/adventure battle game is getting a sequel! Defiant Development has announced that Hand of Fate 2 will be available on Windows, Mac and Linux in Q1 2017.
We reviewed the original Hand of Fate on PS4 and were pleasantly surprised by this game. The game pits players against a series of small challenges and trials, based on a deck of cards dealt to you. Some cards are decision based, and many lead you into 3rd person battle environments where you must fight to survive the challenge. Each choice leads you towards a final “boss” battle card in which you will complete the deck. Once the deck is completed, you can rebuild the deck to your liking or have it randomly generate a deck for you to play against.
Hand of Fate 2 will introduce new additions, including companion players, new more powerful enemies, objective-based combat scenarios, among other things. For combat improvements, two-handed and dual-wield weapons will be a part of the new deck and encounters as well.
I for one am seriously excited about this game as I still stand by how well done the first game was. It carefully balanced the card building aspect of a game with very good combat based environments with great controls and fighting mechanics.
