New Uncharted 4 Story Trailer Poses Lots of Questions

*Update: PlayStation has since pulled the original video and replaced the trailer with a new version replacing the image in the photograph.*

The new Uncharted 4 story trailer dropped earlier this morning, and it’s already raising lots of questions for fans. Heck, even Ubisoft has jumped in because of a questionable choice in “artwork” in one of the scenes (see Kotaku’s article about it for more info).

I don’t like saying it but I think the more we see about this game, and the more these trailers pose a darker tale for Nathan Drake, the more we may have to be ready to accept an end for our buddy Nate. The other Uncharted 4 trailer below paints Nathan and Sam (his brother) in a very precarious spot, but at under a minute theres no context nor does it look like in-game footage anyways, so it may just be cinematic and not necessarily a story driven scene that we’re seeing.

Now we have this new story trailer, and we’re getting a bit more filled in about what’s going on. Nathan and Sam have been apparently chasing after this particular treasure their entire lives. As usual with Uncharted games, they are not the only ones going after it. Nadine seems to also be after it and not necessarily on Nathan’s side, and then the man released from the jail cell who is probably talking to either Sam or Nate, and then the military-type guy who gives Nate the “one-time offer” to drop his search for the treasure. My money is on Nate not giving up, but it’s hard not to see the culmination of all these things ending up being Nate’s downfall.

Our mystery man above, and Mr. “One-Time” offer below.

naughty dog, nathan drake enemy, uncharted series, uncharted 4, a thiefs end,

It’s very possible in all the Uncharted 4 announcements that I’ve missed out on info explaining who these two characters are, so feel free to leave a message in the comments below. That said, watch the trailer a few times over, soak it in, and then comment below about your thoughts on how the game ends. We already know that Neil Druckmann already said this in his interview with The Sun

“But with the end of this story, it will be really hard to do a sequel with Nathan Drake.”

So we have all these pieces to the puzzle, curious to know all of your thoughts. Feel free to leave them below, tweet us @TheDGCast, or tweet me directly @SoAfterISaid
